Terms of Use

X-Archive is a fiction and speculation archive. By browsing the site or transmitting material through /submit you accept these terms.

1. What this service is

X-Archive publishes speculative case files, folklore, theories and user-submitted material around unexplained phenomena. Nothing on this site is a factual assertion, an official record, or authentic classified material. The visual language (stamps, clearance levels, "OMEGA-7", redactions) is a stylistic device and carries no real-world meaning.

2. Content you may not upload

  • No genuine classified or secret material. Do not upload documents that are, or that you believe to be, actually classified, restricted, embargoed or obtained unlawfully — including leaked government, military or corporate records.
  • No violation of the rights of real, identifiable people. No defamation, false factual claims, accusations of crime, doxxing, private addresses, health data, or images of identifiable people without their consent.
  • No copyright infringement. Only upload material you created yourself or are demonstrably allowed to publish. Do not upload photos, footage, audio, music or text owned by others.
  • No illegal content. No incitement, terrorist content, extremist symbols, sexualised depictions of minors, threats, malware or fraud.
  • No spam or automated mass uploads, and no attempts to circumvent the moderation queue or technical limits.

3. Mandatory labelling: fiction vs. allegedly authentic

Every upload must be labelled. You choose exactly one notice and it is displayed with your entry:

  • FICTION / THEORY — invented, dramatised, speculative or artistically created material.
  • CLAIMED AUTHENTIC — you assert the material is a real recording or document. You must hold the rights to it, it must not be classified material, and you accept that it will be reviewed more strictly and may be rejected.

Mislabelling fiction as authentic (or vice versa) to deceive readers is a breach of these terms and leads to removal.

4. Moderation and publication

Uploads are not published immediately. Every transmission enters a review queue, is automatically classified and clustered, and is only visible in the public vault after review. Entries that have not been fully reviewed are marked as unverified user content.

5. House rules (Hausrecht)

The operator exercises domiciliary rights over this site. We may, at our discretion and without prior notice:

  • remove, edit, re-label, unpublish or refuse any submission;
  • block individual users, aliases, e-mail addresses or IP ranges from uploading, chatting or accessing the site;
  • act on a report under /report, on a rights holder's or an authority's request, or on mere suspicion of a breach;
  • discontinue, restrict or change parts of the service.

There is no entitlement to publication, to restoration of removed content, or to compensation. Where proportionate, we inform the affected user of the measure and its reason.

6. Licence you grant us

By uploading you grant us a simple, revocable, non-exclusive right to store, process, reformat and publicly display the material on this site for the purpose of operating the archive. You keep all other rights. You warrant that you are entitled to grant this licence.

7. Liability

User submissions are third-party content. We do not adopt them as our own. We are liable for our own content under general law; for third-party content we become responsible only from the moment we obtain actual knowledge of an infringement, and we act expeditiously to remove or disable access to it.

8. Your duty to report infringements

Every user is obliged to report content that appears unlawful or in breach of these terms instead of ignoring, mirroring or redistributing it. This duty applies in particular to:

  • Material that appears to be genuinely classified, leaked or unlawfully obtained.
  • Content that harms real, identifiable people (defamation, false factual claims, doxxing, non-consensual images).
  • Suspected copyright or trademark infringement in uploaded files.
  • Criminal content of any kind — report it to us and, where appropriate, to the competent authorities.

Use the notice-and-action form at /report (the archive ID and URL are prefilled from the "⚑ Report this dossier" link on every entry) or write to teofilos19951@gmail.com. Reports are reviewed without undue delay; you receive a decision at the contact address you provide. Deliberately false or abusive reports may lead to blocking.

If you uploaded material yourself and later notice that it infringes rights, you must notify us immediately so we can unpublish it.

9. Contact and applicable law

Provider details: Impressum. Data handling: Privacy Policy. German law applies, insofar as this does not deprive consumers of the protection of mandatory provisions of their country of residence. Should individual clauses be invalid, the remainder stays in force.
